Washer agitator repairs

What, me repairing the washer?

Wife was complaining that the washer is not doing its job. She needs to soak the clothes  needs to be washed. Hmm.. I looked at it and the clothes were not moving. Machine makes all the required sounds and does good rinse cycle. I figured that the agitator does not move. OK. Need to fix the non moving top part of the agitator.

Where do I start? Google search is the start. However, these days there is an alternative. Youtube! search for the same on youtube and you will find detailed videos of how to repair just about anything.

After watching a few videos, went to Amazon and ordered 'agitator dogs'. Around $2.50 (ha ha) including s & h.

On getting it, went to OSH and got an extension for getting the nut out of the washer. Opened the washer, replaced the agitator dogs and all is well!

pool water color = ?

water color is not green - but still needs to be worked on.
The issue last year was that the filter had a crack and was not trapping the crap. So, if your pool is not getting
clean in spite of putting $$$ of chemicals, check the filter!

Why the blog?

As I spend my leisure time doing home repairs, I thought I should blog about it. Years later I will see if it was worth the effort.

Today, the color of money is green. Same color as the water of my pool. Need to spend more green to get rid of green! aarghhhhhhh.

The garage door does not close. It has not been closing for some time now. Its a pain. The whole convenience is gone for a toss. My latest analysis of the problem is that the sensors that determine if something is in between must be kaput.

Need to install: New timer for pool motor. Pool reel needs to be maintained.

I wonder when I will get that leisure time to do this!
